My High School Dream Has Finally Come True!
I remember feverently wishing this would happen during my freshman year of high school...if you went to Lakewood H.S. in 1981, you would know why!

YES!!!!! It's about time!
I remember walking down the hall and searching for my name and peeling it off the wall.
Now you know why I always bought Panda a Smurf squeaky toy. *evil grin*

BTW: I understand the UNICEF message and am not indifferent to it and don't want people who might read this to misunderstand my comments above. The two are not related.
I just really hate smurfs and if you were subjected to "spirit week" in 1981, you would too.
Yes, I absolutely agree...I'm all for the message UNICEF is trying to get across. When our class did "Return of the Piner" in 84, that was pretty cool. But our freshman year Spirit Week (thanks for remembering what it was called J) was great if you were a blond girl who happened to adore the Smirfs.
"Return of the Piner" was fall of 1983, insprired by "Return of the Jedi" which had just come out in May of '83. So, we had dibs as seniors. ;)
(smurfs suck)... ;)
You know, I thought it might be '83 but wasn't sure, thanks for clearing that up. Definitely our Spirit Week high point, Smurfs being the lowest of the low...perhaps the worst school spirit activity I've ever seen.
Well, what do you expect when a pack of cheerleaders and majorettes/rifles and woodwinds are in charge of the party? ;)
I'm grateful that we weren't "cabbage patch kids" as well. Eww...
I graduated Lakewood in 83. Who are you? Just a first name and last initial is fine. I might remeber you - LOL!
Who is J?
I'm Ray G. J is another friend who graduated in '84.
*chuckle* I guess you don't know me after all. Looks like I won't get a chance to find out if I know you, too bad...
