28 Weeks Later

It's not often that a follow-up film equals the first. Many are poor imitations, some go off in totally different directions, and a great many suck outright.

Not so with 28 Weeks Later

The sequel to 28 Days Later, this film seamlessly continues the story from the first film. Despite missing any of the survivors from the first film, this follows after Britain has been devastated by the rage virus and is being repatriated by those that were away from home...with a little help from the U.S. Army.

Once things go wrong and the virus breaks out anew, the Army quickly reverts to type and brutally tries to contain the outbreak. Despite that, the film does not revert to corny stereotypes, it manages to stay fresh. George Romero could learn a lesson from this film.

I forgot to add, I saw this film with Inappropriate Laughter Guy. I've seen dudes laugh at some pretty sick stuff...hell, I've done it myself! But this guy was laughing and cheering at every sick moment of this film. That was really weird.
