Three Limes

So far all is going well with the unpacking. The only real issues are the phone jacks still not being hooked up (something Verizon is gonna do this Tuesday at no charge), and the washer/dryer unit that arrived today but had to be returned when the washer refused to do anything (we'll try that again next Saturday with a new unit).

Last weekend I ordered Chinese, something I like to treat myself to on the weekend. During the move in I'd found a place just down the road, so I grabbed a menu. I ordered something typical, beef with Chinese vegetables, one of those dishes that's impossible to screw up. Or so I thought.

When the food arrived it was completely and totally tasteless. What I mean is, the meat had the consistency of meat, and the vegetables felt like vegetables, but nothing had any taste. It was like eating bland bread or something.

So during my adventures this past week I found another place a little further up the road, called Xin Rong. They do Chinese and a few Thai dishes as well. So I grabbed a menu and placed an order yesterday. This time I went for Pad Thai with beef, which is a very typical Thai dish.

When the food arrived, I was surprised to find that on top of my Pad Thai were three slices of lime.

That alone speaks volumes, someone not only cares about their food, but about the presentation as well. Food presentation in a take-out carton? Madness. But it was all oh so delicious.
