Troy

I saw the film Troy yesterday

First of all, like Titanic it's a story set in a historical setting. So don't expect to see The Illiad: the gods don't show up and some parts of the story are changed.

With that said, Wolfgang Peterson has crafted a really good movie. It is very long however, and there are many breaks from the siege. Matter of fact, there are actually two (perhaps three)love stories in the film...but we're not talking about Anakin and Padme rolling around in the grass here with nothing to do. Even the characters in love grow, change and have conflict.

I agree totally with your review, I thought the movie was long, and the breaks from the combat at times was hard to take. Plus, there were no zombies!!!! -Bri

We saw the movie Friday. I found the movie to be entaining and while they did change it in places, it had an epic feel to it. The fight scenes were more believeable that a lot of the typical Hollywood fair.

Time compression: unless you like sitting in a theater for the actual amount of time the seige took, I will take the current seat time and be thankful for the breaks.

I did like the various character development.

It was nice to see Peter O'Toole again.
